Automotive Structures Certificate Program The Structures Course teaches CAD designers how to create automotive structural parts within the body. The candidate will need to model parts that fit within a limited space using existing geometry as the boundaries. The candidate will learn best practices in modeling up design shape and how to maintain design changes relative to adjacent components. The candidate will learn to use the correct types of materials and processes for their designs. The candidate will also learn to design the parts to accommodate subsystems. This course reviews Die Design and Tooling to reinforce Body/Structures design manufacturing processes.
This course leverages real-world design problems presented by automotive manufacturers for case work throughout the class.
Body-in-White Design Candidates should know the principles of body-in-white design, as well as, be able to create models using best practice techniques after completing the certification. The candidate will be able to:
Die Design & Tooling Candidates will know how to recognize the basics of automotive die design and tooling after the certification. After this topic, the candidate will be able to:
Course: 80 hours of online learning content Assessment: 100 questions
